Mixes, mashes & podcast mayhem!

Posted in Update with tags , , , , , , , , , , on 13 May 2010 by infraBuse

Hey everyone, been a while since I made some updates! I’ve been keeping pretty busy with some very exciting new crazy stuff that I’ll talk about in my next post…

First, I want to give props to some cool people that dropped some of my tracks. My friend Rob van den Bos from the beautiful-yet-so-far-up-north Groningen in Holland has made some great podcast episodes featuring tunes of mine. The most recent one being Dubvibes Episode 017 , featuring the remix in which I defile the sanctity of Tom Waits. Btw, Ihave been repeatedly told I’ll burn in hell for that one. :)  The other one features Timing is Everything as an extra. Check out Episode 16 of Dubvibes! I love the fact that he also used a Burial track in 017. Big up for the great work Rob!

Also, Mr Zetrik from Austin, USA used Up & Down in a completely off-the-wall badass mix called Wobbledelic Crunktronica! Check this madness:

Great work man! I like the fact that you’re glitching and scratching the hell out of this mix. It works real well. :)

And Not Looking for Treble & A State of Mind have been used in mash-ups by Mr Spoiltbrat from Cape Town, South Africa. This is the first time ever my music has been mashed! I LOVE it! On the first one, my tune is competing with some of the Great Legends of this earth: Trent Reznor and Peter Gabriel! This is the result of their kinky love-triangle:

Thanks to him for the gracious comment that it’s not mine, but the other two songs that are in great company! :)

The most recent mash-up is A state of mind vs MNSN, a project from Poland I hadn’t yet heard of, but it’s very musical and atmospheric. I think it works really really well:

Mr Spoiltbrat has some awesome stuff up on his Soundcloud! Of special note is his mix of Metallica, Coldplay and The Police: Talk until You sleep Roxanne. Cheers!

And to finish off, I just really need to say thank you to everyone that has been commenting on my tracks, and letting me know they’re feeling it. I’ve been getting a lot of love on Soundcloud, Twitter and Facebook. And I can’t tell you guys how much I appreciate it. Big up to all of you!

Podcast Love!

Two awesome podcasts have dropped a track of mine on their show. I’m really pleased by the quality of their shows in terms of the selection of tunes, and the talk in between the tunes. Well done guys! I wholeheartedly recommend checking them out!

The first one is called “The Secret Archives of the Vatican“. They played the track “A state of Mind“, and put a comment under my previous post saying that they’ll pimp my EP hard when it comes out, which is of course always a super awesome thing. :D The blog is run by Broken Drum Records, a small label dedicated to creating what they call Transglobal Breakbeat Dub Science. They really have a great site, and the artists they support are very talented. Check out the podcast here.
They have also made a flattering blog post called “Seven Excellent Tunes” – putting my track together with six other ones they like. Massive thanks again to Vince for the support!!!

The second Podcast is nothing short of the very first episode of the new bi-weekly podcast of the IDM forum! It’s an initiative of Triton, called IDMf Soundcheck, and he actually put my track “The Easter Egg” up first! It’s a total honor to be the first track of the first episode, and I’m super grateful for this. Check out here: idmfsoundcheck.wordpress.com

Oh and by the way, on a completely unrelated note – how do you like my new head banner? :)

My first youtube vid!! Check it out!

I uploaded my very first video to YouTube, in honor of showcasing the hidden track of my new EP. This little soundbyte is called “The Easter Egg”. It’s a pretty nasty track, but I wanted it to be the first to get up there. This event really marks my first tiny steps into the YouTube realm, so if you’d care to rate the vid or leave a comment, you’ll make me a very happy boy indeed.

So there you go. That’s all for now.

A state of Mind on Glitch FM

Posted in Update with tags , , , , , , on 20 November 2009 by infraBuse

Last wednesday the titletrack of my new EP got dropped by Hipgnosis on his weekly glitch.fm show “Between Zero and One with HipGnosis”. Massive thanks for the props bro! You can listen to this episode here:

EDIT: and again this wednesday:

Also, two more things.

A belated happy B-day to Hipgnosis, and secondly congratz on his latest release that came out yesterday! It was dropped on the same label that my friend Peter Vanek is on, Summerrain Recordings. I advice anybody that’s into the trippy kind of glitch, to check this out!

It’s called What’s in a Name EP. And it’s inspiringly awesome. So warm, rich and laid-back. Just all 4 tunes on there are bangin’, with Lostructur and Thrift Store Chopping as my personal favs.

Oh and by the way, isn’t the title of the first track “Shallow and Pedantic” inspired by the Family Guy episode “Petarded”? I know a fellow FG-lover when I see one! That’s right, I’m on to you, HipGno! :)
But no seriously, big up dude. This is great work!

New cool track! “Not Looking for Treble”.

Posted in New material with tags , , , , , on 2 November 2009 by infraBuse

This is a new track from the upcoming EP “A state of Mind”.

It’s tongue-in-cheekingly called Not Looking for Treble. Hope you’ll enjoy!! Now, if you should enjoy it so much that you’d like a 320, hestitate not and turn here for a free download.

New glitchy track!

Posted in Update with tags , , , on 23 October 2009 by infraBuse

Hooray for progression! This track I’ve chosen to function as the titletrack for the release “A state of mind“. With the summer gone, the tunes I’m producing seem to lose a bit of their bite, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.   :)

This song is a little more spacy and ambient, but still plenty glitchy.
The beat is far from glitch hop though, as it’s more inpired by dubstep tunes by the likes of universally acclaimed genius Burial.

It’s a new turn for me, and I hope you’ll find it pleasing to the old ears. As always, any comments, positive or negative, will result in me being eternally grateful to you – for at least one week.
